Adventures around Schierke

Have you ever heard of the mountain bike swing? Anyone who thinks that sounds like relaxing idleness is mistaken. Schierke lies in a valley surrounded by cliffs and mountains. This means that if you want to get up high, you first need to pedal hard.

The dense network of trails around Schierke makes every cyclist's heart beat faster - whether on a mountain bike, gravel bike, e-bike or muscle-powered touring bike. Bike fans will also find well signposted tours - 74 in total, covering a total length of 2,300 kilometres - in the Volksbank Arena area, which stretches across the entire Harz Mountains. At the end, you will be rewarded everywhere: with marvellous views and incomparable natural phenomena.

Running out of air? The Schierke Tourist Information Centre has a bike repair kit with the most important tools for simple repair and maintenance work. An air pump with repair kit is also available for emergencies.

Cycling maps

Always well prepared offline too

Maps for mountain bike and cycle tours in the Harz mountains.

It goes up and down in the Harz mountains. The biggest challenge is probably a cycle tour to the summit of the Brocken. It goes down the mountain in the direction of Wernigerode. There is something for everyone. With or without an electric drive, with a "normal" bike or a gravel bike.
